Dwight is not happy with the whole Jim/Michael co-management team decision. Michael decides not to sign Dwight's expense report because Wallace says he's "big picture." Jim also won't sign it because Dwight won't say please. Dwight goes back to Michael saying he wants to file a complaint against "the tallest guy in the office" and nearly convinces Michael but doesn't succeed in the end.
He goes back to Jim but doesn't get anywhere again. This is all in attempt to convince everyone that he was the one that deserved the promotion and he ends up making up a fantasy about how Dwight wants to defeat Jim in the wrestling ring, causing him to be really loud. Erin comes in and tells Dwight that Jim wants him to keep it down.
Michael tries to call everyone in to the conference room for a long meeting but Jim asks to see him in his office first. Everyone in the office is still a little uneasy about having two bosses. Jim tells Michael to stop all of the unnecessary long meeting they have been having and Michael finally agrees that they will have no more meeting that week.
Pam takes a donut from the breakroom even though she is worried about fitting into her wedding dress and being pregnant. She tells Phyllis that she and Jim do have a wedding registry but they would appreciate cash too. Phyllis misses the point and says she will get them a birdhouse mailbox.
Jim catches Michael having a meeting in his office and is upset, the meeting breaks up and Michael still doesn't seem to understand the whole meaning of having a co-manager. David Wallace calls them and tells them that there will be no cost-of-living raise this year, only a small amount for each branch, which the managers have to decide how to use it.
Jim and Michael are already arguing while on the phone and Wallace makes sure that it isn't going to be a problem. Michael and Jim finally agree to work it out.
Jim and Michael have a conference meeting in their office. Michael wants to sneak a 1.5% raise into everyone's paychecks but Jim decides they need to weigh the pros and cons. Michael tells him he is thinking too much and mocks him for the rest of the meeting.
Jim makes a pie chart of how Michael spends his time with the majority going to "procrastination" and "distracting others" with a small sliver dedicated to critical thinking.
Kevin asks Pam where they are registered. She tells him they just want cash, he seems a little upset but he writes a check to "Pam Halpert." She feels a little shallow for asking for it but likes that her name is written like that.
Jim and Michael are back in the conference room. Jim wants to give a raise to just the sales people. Another bad idea. Jim tells Michael he has strengths and weaknesses and Jim is here to help with the weaknesses. Michael isn't having any of it.
Jim goes out to announce that the raises will go to the sales people. Everyone seems to be a little pissed. Dwight asks why he should get a raise over everyone else. Michael steps in and annoys everyone even more with his babble. Michael decides to take Jim in his office and discuss it until they come to a conclusion.
Michael and Jim are assigning everyone to a point system in the office to see who deserves raises. Erin comes in to say that Wallace has invited them to a conference call. When they leave, Dwight sneaks into the office. Dwight invites everyone in to see the point system and of course they all get upset. Jim tries to defend himself but he and Michael skip out before things get crazy.
Dwight tries to get everyone to revolt against Jim in a management position but everyone isn't swayed.
Jim and Michael are in his office, and Michael brings him a mug that says "World's Best Boss." Jim realizes that Jim is his only friend in the office other than Pam. Someone knocks on their door and Michael says to pretend they aren't there.
Ryan comes into the break room asking Pam, "would you rather have 100 dollars now or 5,000 dollars a year from now?" She decides on the first one but ends up writing him a 50 dollar check for broker fees. She talks about Ryan's strategy for football teams and realizes what she has done. "Don't tell Jim," she says.
